Mežgarciems
Years ago Carnikava Municipality was in Soviet Union and parts of Carnikava region was used to military. Mežgarciems used to be former Soviet air defense troops, where the Soviet Union had the S-75 PGA army base for learning needs.
Pine forest and a sea breeze 
Most of the time we’ll hike through national park in times, when the winter is giving in to the new life that spring brings along. The route takes us over aged dunes covered in pine forests, marshes and red billberries.
Wonder of nature – Long lakes (Garezeri)
We’ll explore and pass unique Long lakes created by receding ice age and the arabesque world of coastal plants.
Mouth of Gauja
Gauja is the longest river in Latvia and is the only one of the big rivers, whose mouth is not industrialized. On the wild beach we’ll take notice of the wonders the sea has washed out during the winter and continue towards Carnikava, passing a small village with street names of chemical compounds.
Lamprey Museum
Carnikava is a city known for it’s traditions of catching and cooking lamprey. Even its coat of arms has one on it. Here we’ll visit a local craftsman who’ll introduce us to the fine arts of catching and cooking this fish. You’ll be able to taste and buy some as well.
