Sigulda – Turaida castle – Gauja national park – Bīriņi castle – Saulkrasti sandy beach

A trip to experience two different cities: Sigulda, the center for active holidays in Latvia, which also has 2 castles and a picturesque river valley and Saulkrasti, which translates as a Sunny-shores. We’ll visit old castles and beautiful nature sights and then ride to the beach to enjoy a sunset on the coast of Baltic sea lying on the sands of a resort city.

Once out of the train, we’ll get going by exploring one of the most beautiful cities in Latvia. There is the river Gauja national park with caves and cravices, there is the Turaida castle – one of the trademarks of postcards from Latvia and a medieval treasure.

We’ll also get some excercise on a rope course overviewing the sights of the river valley and move on to see the city from the opposite side of it and explore sanitarium.

Moving forward to visiting a smaller castle for a lunch break, where we’ll be able to taste some local cuisine like beaver meat and tails of a crayfish.

Arriving in Saulkrasti, one of the most popular sea side resorts in Latvia, we g for a swim, relax and bade in the sun (fingers crossed) and return to riga by train just in time for dinner.
